Masterguide
A restaurant guide that uses transaction data to show which restaurants have guests that visited more than once.
The problem
We see a trend in today’s market that has increasingly shifted from consumer-driven to controlled by companies and investors.
A company's ability to market themselves has become more important than the product itself. We see how companies create fantasy products or services without any real demand. In addition to hitting small businesses, we also see how this affects our planet, both ecologically and socially sustainablyWe want Mastercard to use its data to give power back to the consumer and promote businesses that provide actual value to the individual.
We want to start in the restaurant market.
The insight
The best food is food you want to eat again.
The idea
Masterguide - the first restaurant guide solely based on recurrent transactions. With the transaction data from Mastercards customers we create a restaurant guide that shows which restaurants have customers that visited more than once. If a restaurant has 80 percent of their total number of visitors returning after their first visit, the restaurant will score 8/10 on Masterguide. This way we highlight restaurants with the highest percentage of returning guests.
The idea showcases an example of how we can utilize existing data to create a new product, providing additional value to Mastercard’s customers.
